HI. BOTH OF MY LAPTOPS HAVE FINALLY GIVEN UP ON ME SO IT'S TIME FOR ME TO FINALLY GET A NEW LAPTOP THAT CAN DO SHIT WHOOP.

Here are generally the min specs I'm looking for but for the most part wanted recommendations from you guys since obviously you may have them/have used them for a while and it's better hearing from experience. I'm looking for something which I can both do a combination of Video Editing/CGI work as well as finally be able to hopefully run PUBG & a heap of other games finally at a pretty damn good quality and also I'll be using it for film & uni work. IF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS THEY WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANK YOU.

    > Multicore 64-bit processor (I.e. Intel i5 or i7)
    > 16 GB RAM
    > 512GB SSD
    >1920 x 1080 display
    > Sound card (ASIO compatible, if windows computer)
    > USB PORTS FOR THE LOVE OF GODS PLEASE

    EDIT: ADDITIONAL NOTES -
Need a laptop unfortunately since I travel around a lot to various sets during film shoots and I need to be able to upload all my rushes/film onto my laptop in a heartbeat. So unfortunately I need a laptop over a PC.

I’ve got a budget of under $3000 however I’m aiming for value in terms of things so ideally if I can get something around $2500 or a bit more or less that would be fantastic.

    THANK YOU.

Sorry for the meme, it had to be done

In all seriousness though, is the portability a crucial part or have you thought about getting a desktop?

Under $3000 so I've got a bit to work with but ideally whatever's best value.

The Dell Inspiron range are really good - affordable for decent specs. Definitely recommend checking them out.

I don't believe the inspirons have graphics cards, though I might be wrong, and you'll probably want something with a graphics card for video editing and if its what you're going to be gaming on

Alright K-Mart, I will help you.

You need a laptop for graphic designing and handling large volumes of film. Ideally, this means you are looking for a laptop with:
    • 16+ GB of RAM
    • Strong graphics processor
    • Powerful CPU (I suggest a minimum of 3.5 GhZ)
RAM is self-explanatory. Don't get anything less than 16 GB or you're gonna have a bad time.
When it comes to the graphics card, just google the card's benchmarks compared to others, look at reviews, that'll tell you whether it's good enough.
Powerful CPU is also important, make sure you get a fast one.

Look at the $2500k+ models here and you'll get an idea of what you're looking for

3.5 GHz base processors don't really exist unless it's one of the laptops with a desktop chip which I wouldn't recommend unless it's going to be sitting in a fridge connected to a charger.

2.5-3 GHz is good for a laptop, as long as it's boost frequency (it'll usually say "up to x GHz) is like 3.2 or 3.3 GHz+ you should be fine
